Enviroment
We’ve partnered with Toitū to achieve Carbon Reduce Certification under ISO 14064-1, demonstrating our commitment to a low-carbon future and ongoing environmental responsibility.
We’re actively measuring our greenhouse gas emissions and have strategies in place to manage and reduce our impact, using the Toitū framework as our guide. Our compliance is independently verified each year to maintain certification.
Some of our environmental initiatives include:
Electrification of forklifts
Trials are currently underway at our Palmerston North branch and warehouses, as part of our ongoing efforts to transition the fleet away from fossil fuels.
Hydrogen powered trucks
We’re in ongoing discussions with vendors to trial hydrogen and dual-fuel technology. Cost modelling is underway for a low-emission laneway, with conversations progressing alongside potential pilot customers.
Low rolling resistance tyres
Our entire fleet uses Bridgestone Ecopia tyres, which offer lower rolling resistance and contribute to a 4.2% reduction in fuel consumption.
Rollout of Euro 6 Scania vehicles
We continue to replace and expand our fleet with Euro 6 standard Scania units, over 150 are already in operation, with another 30 on order.
