How do you ensure cargo safety during long-haul trips?
Our fleet is equipped with in-cab technology (E-Road, cameras, electronic logbooks, sign-on-glass POD), on-board weight management systems, and rigorous health & safety protocols.
How is freight damage managed or compensated?
We maintain strict packaging and handling standards, monitor loads in transit, and have claims procedures in place. Please contact us immediately if damage is suspected or discovered at claims@booths.co.nz
Can I track my consignment in real time?
Yes, customers can access live tracking via the B CONNECTED portal or via our website for detailed updates and status alerts.
What is the lead time for quoting and booking linehaul service?
Depending on route and volume, we typically respond with a quote within 24–48 hours. Once accepted, bookings can often be scheduled within 1–2 business days (subject to capacity and route constraints).
Are there any weight or dimension limits?
Yes, our curtain-side trucks and trailers have maximum payload capacities and dimension restrictions. Please supply full load dimensions and weights during the quote stage so we can assess feasibility. If you need oversized transport we can accommodate your needs through our flat deck fleet.
What happens if there’s a network disruption (e.g, weather, road closures, ferry delays)?
We monitor network health proactively, issue alerts, and may reroute or adjust schedules. Customers may receive communications via SMS, email, or portal updates.
How are freight dimensions calculated?
The dimensions used for sending freight across the Booth’s network is based on the greater of the actual weight or the cubic weight. Check out our helpful blog for our simple guide: www.booths.co.nz/freight-dimensions/

Sustainability for us means operating responsibly, balancing the needs of the environment, our people, and our communities. We look at everything under an ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) framework so we can reduce our environmental footprint, ensure social wellbeing, and maintain strong ethical business practices.
Find out more here: www.booths.co.nz/company/sustainability/
Are you certified in any sustainability or carbon-reduction standard?
Yes. We’re certified under Toitū Carbon Reduce, and we follow the ISO 14064-1 standard to measure and manage our greenhouse gas emissions. Our emissions are independently verified each year.
Find out more here: www.booths.co.nz/company/sustainability/
What steps are you taking to reduce your environmental impact?
We have several active initiatives underway, including:
- Trialling electric forklifts at our Palmerston North branch.
- Looking into hydrogen or dual-fuel technology for future truck trials.
- Using low rolling resistance tyres (Bridgestone Ecopia) across our fleet, which helps reduce fuel use.
- Replacing older vehicles with Euro 6 standard Scania trucks. Over 150 are already operating, with more on order.
We are constantly looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact.
Keep up to date with our environmental initiatives here: www.booths.co.nz/company/sustainability/
What is your goal for transitioning to cleaner fuels or technologies?
We are committed to moving toward a lower carbon future. While some technologies (like hydrogen or dual fuel) are still being assessed for viability, we are actively modelling cost and operational impact. Meanwhile, we continue to modernise our fleet (Euro 6 vehicles), trial electric forklifts, and use fuel-saving tyres.
What are your governance practices when it comes to sustainability?
Governance is about doing things properly and being accountable. We have:
- External verification of our environmental certification.
- A code of ethics (Booth’s 101) guiding how we operate.
- Strong cybersecurity, and health, safety & quality systems in place to maintain trust and compliance.
How do you track your progress and update stakeholders?
We issue sustainability updates (for example in August 2024) which report on where we’re at with emissions measurement, fleet upgrades, technology trials, and other initiatives. We use tools like the TMS with carbon reporting, and we publicly share progress.
What does “Toitū Carbon Reduce” certification mean?
Toitū Carbon Reduce is a certification programme that helps organisations measure and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. It involves measuring emissions (according to ISO 14064-1), setting reduction strategies, and undergoing independent verification. It shows that we are serious about environmental impact.
